X-R-A-Y

My story “Court Mandated Therapy” in X-R-A-Y Literary Magazine begins, “Bill is not having flashbacks to Vietnam. Even though the shiny-haired psychiatrist says there’s no doubt at all, even though the list of symptoms looks like his autobiography…”

The idea for this story came from growing up in the eighties, when it seemed every man on tv was wracked with Vietnam War flashbacks. They couldn’t put a Pop Tart in the oven without imagining they were being bombed. But it’s always seemed to me that the real sorrow came from somewhere else.
