Chicka Boom on November 25

With their all-women revue, Laura Bailey and Jess Beaulieu have created a truly unique show.

The Bechdel Test looks for shows with (1) at least two women in it, who (2) who talk to each other, about (3) something besides a man.

Chicka Boom ALWAYS delivers. For the past year, the cream of the Toronto creative community has gathered to sing, to be sad, and funny, and to blow the audience away. I’m very pleased to be part of their one year anniversary show, along with:

Stand-up from a sister…
DIANA BAILEY (who used to play Law and Order instead of Barbies)

World famous sketch comedy from…
THE TEMPLETON PHILHARMONIC (Gwynne Phillips & Briana Templeton) (Briana wrote stories about toads instead of Barbies)

A monologue in character from…
DANZ ALTVATER (who says, “A 100yr old woman to me in front my family, the longterm care staff and a room full of 80 year olds : ‘I can’t tell if you’re a man or a woman but whatever you are you’re dashingly good looking’!”)

Real, honest-to-God dancing from…
CAMILLE STOPPS & KAITLIN TORRANCE (Tap dancing? I really hope it’s tap dancing.)

Standing ovation-level stand-up from…
SARA HENNESSEY (She made a summer spent in bed by doctor’s orders sound like the MOST FUN SUMMER EVER.)

And finally:

Unreal solo improv from…
JESS GRANT (Who once played an entire town on stage, AND WE COULD SEE IT.)

Please join us this Sunday at 8 PM for this Pay What You Can show, at the Free Times Cafe on College. (Order a latke. They’re delicious.)
