I feel as if I know Sage Tyrtle because I’ve listened to her stories. From the first line you know that you’re about to be taken somewhere else. Sage asks us to go there with her; we can’t help but come along for the ride. She doesn’t try to be funny or profound or humble, but she finds those moments in her stories and delivers them with grace.” – Emma Woolley, storyteller
True Stories, Made Up Plays: February
Facebook Event
The theatre of the imagination is what we explore with True Stories, Made Up Plays. Each evening includes three hand-picked storytellers, who tell us true stories drawn from their own experiences. Danz Altvater opens with a character monologue. Catherine McCormick tells us how a childhood trip to Jamaica nearly turned deadly due to a case of mistaken identity. Ely Henry tells us about his first kiss. And James Gangl tells a MYSTERY STORY.
And then, three hand-picked improvisational troupes perform long-form improv, playing with the true stories.
